Preparing your SciCan Equipment for Extended Periods of Non-use
In cases where your office is closed for 5 days or longer, SciCan would like to provide some helpful tips to prepare your Stericenter for extended periods on non-use.
Pay attention to the following:
- Drain all water tanks from sterilizers as prolonged periods of non-use could allow colony formation in the fresh water holding tanks.
- Disconnect the cleaning solution in your HYDRIM and follow the instructions on the “Prepare for Shipping” settings screen.
- Drain and disinfect Ultrasonic cleaners.
- Should you not use ready-to-use surface disinfectants and make your own mix, make sure to mix new solutions when you resume operation.
- Shut off the city water valve on the Red line coming into the VistaPure system. Then drain the tank using the faucet at the sink.
- Once all maintenance has been completed, shut the water to the office off at the inside meter to ensure no water related accidents happen during your absence.
- Review expiration dates on items such as Sterilization bags you may have in stock.
- Disconnect all chemicals from your STATMATIC and throw out the absorbent pad. Clean all internal and external surfaces.
- Do a standard IC office disinfection before and after the office closure.
When resuming operation in your dental office, follow the instructions in your Operator’s Manual for the proper procedures for preparing your equipment for use. All IFU’s for SciCan products are available on the product pages at www.scican.com.
Taking the steps noted above will help keep your equipment in good working order. If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact SciCan at 800-572-1211.
